Jan's Mission
Creating S.A.F.E. ZONE was driven by the need to provide older adults with a supportive, inclusive and judgement-free environment where they can remain healthy, build confidence and improve their overall well-being. Many seniors face barriers such as fear of injury, isolation or lack of programs, S.A.F.E. ZONE was designed to remove those obstacles and offer accessible and safe fitness opportunities. The importance of S.A.F.E. ZONE goes beyond the physical, it promotes mental wellness, independence and a sense of belonging. Though this program I have not only seen participants improve their mobility and decrease their risk of falls, but have witnessed the building of meaningful relationships based on trust, encouragement and shared experiences. Watching these connections grow has been extremely rewarding, and reinforces the value of community and how impactful a safe, welcoming space can be in enhancing a healthy quality of life for our seniors.
